A Mother's Light

A light from heaven is what you are,
A blessing from above.
Your touch as soft as an angel,
Your voice so full of love.

A seed was planted in my heart,
Your love has made it grow.
No stronger bond on this earth...
Will I ever know.

My mother..my friend...my confidante,
Never did you falter.
Your guiding light has lead me through..
Whatever life had to offer.

Your light has shone throughout the years,
And blessed each life..you've touched.
My dear sweet mother, that is why..
You are loved so much.

Now your light no longer burns,
For all of us to see.
But I love you mom...and it will always shine,
Because your light touched me.

This poem was written for a friend of mine who lost her mother to cancer.
